Humax has announced details of the forthcoming HD-FOX T2 Freeview Box. This is set to be one of the hottest Freeview HD boxes on the market but it comes at a cost of £170.
The Humax HD-FOX T2 Freeview Box will be able to receive the broadcasted HD signals (MPEG4 AVC/H.264 and MPEG2). These signals arrive via your normal terrestrial aerial in the same way current digital TV is received, without the need for dishes or subscriptions.

The Humax HD-FOX T2 Freeview Box has new technology which upscales to 1080p at 50Hz quality, so the received content will be output as Standard HD content, meaning the broadcaster is able to change the signal without any kind of interruption or hassel for the viewer.
This HD Freeview box is Looking to take over the home networking front too, Humax say that the box will also be able to collect content on your network and then be able to view it through to your normal TV. HUmax haven't released full details of supported formats, but we believe it will cover the streaming of MP3s, JPEGs, Xvid, AVI as well as the previously mentioned MPEG video formats. We expect WMV will not be suported covered.
Throught the use of the handy USB slot, you will be able to record directly onto your memory pen or USB stick to use it as a simple PVR too, as well as being able to view any content directly from an external hard drive. It is worth pointing out that Humax did comment and say that the latter functions wouldn't be available at launch, but would be availiable through an update at a later date.
Humax have also included an Ethernet connection on the back. This will mean that going forward there is the potential to expand the functionality to cover various online solutions like the BBC iPlayer. The Humax HD-FOX T2 Freeview Box is likely to be available early on in 2010.
Note: This HD Freeview box will be DVB-T and DVB-T2 compatible.
